Photos can always be photoshopped. But, keep in mind both cameras (H50 and HX1) don’t have RAW. So you cannot change lighting and exposure afterwards. If that is your main goal, look for a Panasonic Camera or a Canon.
RAW gives the opportunity to change your exposure without loosing quality.
That said – when you are a beginner and want to discover manual photography – the h50 and hx1 have a lot to offer!
when you would have a DSLR you have to have an enormous Lens to have the same Zoom the DSC H50 and HX1 have. That’s a lot weigth to carry! Photos can be changed in Photoshop afterwards. but mind that the pictures are in jPEG.
But Photoshop can do a lot afterwards. Just try to shoot your pics in the best way, than you should not have to use ps afterwards.
in short:
H50 ( recommended for better quality overall)
- iso 80 till 3200
- 15x zoom
- no hd filming
- better imagequality (less noise)
- adapter can be used to fit other lenses on
such as a polarisingfilter or a macrolens.
HX1( more automatic functions)
- iso 125 ( so more noise) – 3200
- hd filming
- more noise in images , even in lower levels
- faster response/focus
- more zoom – 20 x
- more automatic functions
- twilight mode – keeps multible shots one after another and combines them in a good low light image.
- automatic panorama mode ( just turn around and the camera makes a panorama
- no extra lenses to fit on – except a telelens
@browseceline sorry, I’m not american so I don’t understand what does that RAW means, please can you explain me?
and one more question, so you say that the lightning of the photos taken by sony cameras cannot be changed?
Hey David your right the black really is the perfect colour for the model. Don’t just make it a wish make it a reality thats what I did and I am glad I got mine its awesome.
I really liked your video and your channel. If you need any help getting this video or channel exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position. God Bless!
No, 9.1 megapixel or 10 megapixel won’t make a different in quality. The Nikon D40 has 6.1 megapixels but its picture quality is amazing. It’s not all about megapixels, its about lens and sensor also.
¡Hi!
Somebody knows where I can buy The Cyber-shot DSC-H50B.?, no amazon others web sites, more prices. I have a convetion soon and I need this camera Thanks for you help my friends.
yes it has! though not 720 or 1080p video-quality. It that is what you are mainly looking for, then go for the sony DSC HX1, however the picturequality of the H50 is much better than the DSC HX1.
@browseceline well it’s not the main thing that i want, but if it has, than it’s good.
and do you know can it’s photos be photoshopped? because i read somewhere that sony cameras do not allow that. so the pictures can’t be improved (light, corrections etc). is that true?

Hi – I just want to know hows the photo clarity taken in night time and in low light? Does zooming in those conditions cause any image bluring?
test
does this Camera has night shot? Because I would like to film/pictures in the night as well?
yes it does
Does the video quality come in 720p or 1080p(i)?
is 1080 full HD, very good….
really good features.. but doesn’t 9.1 megapixel come as a drawback when compared to the other models..?
