Create a Cool 3D Ice Effect: Photoshop CS4 Extended Tutorial

Another tutorial taken right from the August September Tutvid newsletter. Here we go ahead and work with Photoshop CS4 Extended, specifically the 3D construction and editing engine. We will create a cool abstract 3D shape which is different every time you make it and we then check out some cool techniques to convert it to a smooth icy looking shape. Really a quick neat technique. Follow me on Twitter! www.twitter.com Be sure to check out www.tutvid.com Check out the blog @ http…

  6. LxrKan says:

clearly you downloaded a cracked version with the intent to learn how to use it yes?

yet you still havent mastered the whole drop down menu system on your computer, i think you should go watch some “how to use a computer [BASIC]” tutorials before you even try with such a proffesion piece of software.

ps your an idiot haha im sorry :/

  7. LxrKan says:

    hey señor tutvid xD
i was wondering what FPS you output this video cas the mouse disappears for short periods then flashes and disappears again.
you should record/export with high setting :) just a little tip to help your viewers :)

no, I’m not an idiot! I’m a graphic designer & Web Developer and I know how to use a computer! your an idiot saying I’m an idiot because you don’t even know me, and don’t know who or what I do! and I remember when I first installed PS that it had the 3D menu, I downloaded it from the adobe website :P

  9. LxrKan says:

lol ok your right, im sorry.

  10. LxrKan says:

after watching your videos i see your not an idiot sorry
but your a retard :D sorry about the confusion, and you can call yourself a graphic designer if you can even find a dropdown menu in PS or make an intro using some shitty website
    PWNED!

  11. availguy says:

well thanks, I am a graphic designer then! =] (read your comment again)

and btw I’m not a retard, your the one who is a stupid retard because you can’t even find something better to do in your time then talk bad about people that your wrong about.. get a life!

P.S. you don’t even deserve to own photoshop, no matter how you got it =P because Photoshop is only for people that actually use it more and are a better designer.. (you don’t even deserve to have any access to any computer at all)

  17. csmaster65 says:

I dont see why you would do that. I mean if you have CS4, you don’t really need CS3.

Nice vid, I’ve never really played around with the mesh creation tools yet, mainly just stuck to 3d painting. Watching this vid gave me a few more ideas.

Have you ever tried applying for a job with Adobe? I’m sure they’d pay you a great deal for making these tuts. :)

  24. olanexhari says:

when i go to 3D,, new Mesh from grey scale is not highlighted. it says no 3d object selected… any idea how to solve this problem

  25. Greathoof says:

    No.
We can get the same result 2 times with the clouds.
We have 1 to 314 572 800chance if we use a 1280×960 Screen and using Black ‘n’ White, so there is 0-255 colors :D

Cool vid, but I can’t really use the 3d stuffs yet.
Nice to see a 3d tutorial for Photoshop!
