((This is my first tutorial)) I’m showing one of my ways to removing the background on a picture.. In this method I have used the tools: Quickmask, Background Ereaser Tool.. [I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS3] I hope this is helpful.. ENJOY! =D

Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing, also when he switched from “erase background” to just plain “erase” he should have feathered it a bit so to normal eyes it would look like it blends in a little more.
If you going through this kind of trouble why not just use the extract tool or the background erase too for the whole thing. It would seem a lot faster and easy to me
you shouldnt say “double click the layer so it will become a layer or someshit like that, you shud say, double click the current layer so it will unlock the layer.

The background layer is locked, if you double click it, you can unlock it and turn it into layer 0
